Welcome Back!!
Happy New Year! While the summer has been a bit tumultuous, we do want to reassure you that we are ready for school tomorrow.
A few things to note:
Arrival should be no earlier than 7:20am, with drop-off for riders from the Tech. Ed/Boston Bruins entrance to the school toward the cafeteria entrance on the back. For 6th grade and new families, this is where we had our BBQ last night. Walkers enter through the front parking lot area.
Pick up is at 2:15 for ALL students. There is not staggered dismissal this year.
No students should be dropped off via the office/entrance area parking lot.
We have a few important announcements. Unfortunately, our nurse candidate decided not to take the position. I am working with our SAU6 nurses and team to work on the next steps. I will be available for nursing needs in the interim. I have forms for folks to sign if you are bringing in student medicines tomorrow. No child should be carrying this medication, and it should be in labeled prescription bottles. We also need medical orders from a physician. We have forms for over the counter medication to be distributed at school, too. These are in the office for your signature.
Medication will need to be brought in and counted with a form, so please be patient while we get this ready. If you have medical needs to discuss, please come in to the office, too. I apologize for this issue. We are looking to see if we can find a Registered Nurse, per regulations.
We also do not have a Health Teacher, per the hiring freeze. We are working on a plan to support this subject. For tomorrow and Friday, Sarah Ferland, our counselor, will be covering this class.
Please note that Mrs. Gardner, 7th/8th math will be out for a few days, and we will have a substitute in her room for a few days until her return.
Please note that only water is allowed in classrooms and the gym. Fresh Picks will be offering a little more limited food plan. The salad bar will be replaced with a fruit and veggie bar for the foreseeable future.
We had to redo out entire schedule this week due to the not hiring of our three new teachers. Again, we apologize for this issue. Our CMS staff is amazing and helped make it possible.
Please be patient with a return of emails and phone calls. Sadly, Mrs. MaryEllen LaPlante will be leaving us on Friday, 8/29. She has been a tremendous asset to our school, and we will miss her dearly. We will still have Miss Nancy Rosinski in the main office.
Please know that we are excited to see our students tomorrow and hope you had a good summer.
Here is to a good year!
Mrs. Kerry Kennedy, CMS Principal
